Charlene Dunbar remembers sketching clothing designs non-stop as a preteen and convincing her Mom to enlist the help of a seamstress to bring her polka-dot outfit ideas to life. An engineer and project manager by trade, Charlene created suakoko betty (pronounced SWAH-koko), a clothing brand inspired by African design and women who want to show up authentically while working full-time. suakoko betty has been featured in Belk, NYFW and is a living testimony of how God provides when we take the first step of a faith. Charlene enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband Charles and their two children. Follow @suakokobetty on Facebook and Instagram.
